　　在尘粒中的放射性物质没有完全衰减前，人就进入这种污染场所，就可因吸入致命尘粒导致体内细胞癌变，发生肺癌、白血病等致命疾病。
　　“这个例子非常极端，尽管绝大多数人不可能受到核试验的威胁，但环境中污染的威胁，同样存在于每个人身边，只是很多人没有意识到。”朱彦君主任提醒。
　　最常见的例子就是，肺癌发病率目前在我国甚至全世界都排在死亡原因的前列，而肺癌唯一明确的原因就是与吸烟相关。
　　“可以说，将近80%的肺癌患者都是因为吸烟引起的，包括一手烟、二手烟。”朱彦君主任指出。
　　虽然吸烟所造成的危害，和核试验的相比致病比较缓慢，人数比例也相对少一些，但造成的结果——癌症却是一样的。
　　此外，也有人说肺癌与装修污染里的氡元素、厨房油烟都有关系，虽然没有确凿证据，但至少也与人们生活的环境有密切联系，对肺癌发病率的高低，有着绝对重要的影响。

　　影片《征服者》讲述的是成吉思汗统一蒙古各部、创建蒙古帝国的故事，片中许多战争场景是在戈壁沙漠发生的，所以制片人休斯决定将外景地选在地况相似的美国犹他州沙漠中的雪峡谷。
　　雪峡谷距离位于内华达州尤卡平地的核试验地点仅137英里，且正处于核爆试验时的顺风位置。1953年，美国军方曾在尤卡平地试爆11颗原子弹。
