　　紫茉莉根
　　(《纲目拾遗》)
　　【异名】入地老鼠、花粉头(《岭南采药录》)，水粉头(《修订增补天宝本草》)，粉子头、胭脂花头(《四川中药志》)。
　　【来源】为紫茉莉科植物紫茉莉的块根。
　　【植物形态】紫茉莉(《草花谱》)，又名：胭脂花(《草花谱》)，粉团花(《盛京通志》)，野茉莉、粉豆花(《植物名实图考》)，丁香、粉孩儿、未时花、胭脂水粉、水粉子花、长春花。
　　一年生草本，高可达1米。块根纺锤形，肉质，表面棕黑色，内面白色。茎直立，分枝多，有膨大的节。叶对生，卵状，长4～10厘米，宽约3厘米，先端锐尖，基部截形或心脏形，全缘，羽状网脉；叶柄长。花1至数朵生于枝梢，总苞5裂，萼状；花萼呈花冠状，萼管细长，长4～5厘米，上部扩大成喇叭形，5裂，色白或紫红；花瓣缺；雄蕊5～6，花丝细长，与花被等长或稍长；雌蕊1，子房上位，1室，花柱线状，柱头头状。果实狭卵形，长约8毫米，黑色。种子直立，内藏丰富的白色粉质胚乳。花期7～9月。
　　全国大部地区有栽培。
　　本植物的叶(紫茉莉叶)、种子内的胚乳(紫茉莉子)亦供药用，各详专条。
　　【采集】秋、冬挖取块根，洗净泥沙，晒干。
　　【化学成分】根含氨基酸、有机酸及大量淀粉。花含多种甜菜黄素等黄色素。
　　【药理作用】根含树脂，对皮肤、粘膜有刺激性。花在晚上吐出浓郁的香气，可麻醉及驱除蚊虫。
　　同属植物多花紫茉莉之水提取物，在初步动物筛选试验中有抗肿瘤作用。
　　【性味】甘苦，平。

　　④《四川中药志》："性微寒，味甘，无毒。"
　　【功用主治】利尿，泻热，活血散瘀。治淋浊，带下，肺劳吐血，痈疽发背，急性关节炎。

　　③《贵州民间方药集》："治妇女红崩、白带，疔癀，损伤及接骨。"

　　【用法与用量】内服：煎汤，3～5钱(鲜者0.5～1两)。外用：捣敷。
　　【选方】①治淋浊、白带：白花紫茉莉根一至二两(去皮，洗净，切片)，茯苓三至五钱。水煎，饭前服，日服二次。(《福建民间草药》)
　　②治白带：白胭脂花根一两，白木槿五钱，白芍五钱。炖肉吃。(《贵阳民间药草》)
　　③治红崩：红胭脂花根二两，红鸡冠花根一两，头晕药一两，兔耳风五钱。炖猪脚吃。(《贵阳民间药草》)
　　④治急性关节炎：鲜紫茉莉根三两。水煎服，体热加豆腐，体寒加猪脚。(福建晋江《中草药手册》)
